D.A.R Overall Rules

Race rules for each leg must be followed to maintain continuity.

1. Late registration of teams must take place at GLEN MERVYN DAM from 7.30am - 8.30am. Briefing for Run, M/Bike and Canoe events will be conducted at 8.30AM at the the dam.

2. Loss of team number or breach of rules by any competitor will face team disqualification.

3. Minimum age of a competitor is 13 years.

4. Marshals from each leg have the right to inspect all equipment.

5. Race directors or medical personnel have the authority to withdraw any competitor found medically unfit or unduly stressed and unable to continue.

6. The marked route must be adhered to or disqualification will result.

7. Protest or dispute must be completed in writing, along with a $20 fee and presented within 10 mins. of completion of their respective leg to the head marshal who will pass it onto race directors who’s ruling will be final.

8. Water points and check points will be manned by marshals in all legs and they have the right to disqualify any competitor who breaches these rules.

 

Leg Rules

 

RUN

1. Runners must run on right hand side of the road.

2. No pace vehicles or escort runners

3. Runners must use the course that is marked - NO SHORT CUTS

4. Numbers supplied must be placed on front and upper arms.

 

CANOE

1. Any one man canoe kayak or surf wave ski may be used.

2. Buoyancy vest is RECOMMENDED

3. Juniors must wear approved buoyancy vests (under 16)

4. Paddlers must mark canoe with supplied numbers (placed on left side of canoe)

 

MOUNTAIN BIKE

1. All riders must wear approved helmets.

2. Road traffic rules must be obeyed

3. Spare bikes or support crews are not allowed.

4. Cyclists are recommended they carry their own water.

5. Cyclist must use the marked course NO SHORT CUTS.

6. Supplied numbers must be worn on lower back and lower legs.

 

SWIM

1. et suits goggles and caps are allowed

2. Fins, snorkels, paddles or floatation devices are not allowed.

3. Numbers to be clearly marked on upper arms.


CYCLE

1. Cyclists must wear approved helmets.

2. Road traffic rules must be obeyed at all times.

3. Spare bikes are allowed

4. No pace vehicles or backup crew.

5. Cyclist recommenced they carry own water.

6. Supplied numbers are to be placed on and lower back.

7. Numbers must be placed on lower legs.
